Our panels have been accepted for RSA 2019 Conference
We are pleased to announce that all our four panels on Lower-Class Dress, Fashion and Identity in Europe, 1450–1650 have been accepted for the Renaissance Society of America 2019 conference in Toronto. We had a wonderful turnout for the call for papers we announced this spring, and are very excited to bring a wide variety of papers on lower-class dress into discussion at the conference.
Our aim is to broaden our knowledge of dress and fashion in the past, and bring the focus on the average person – for example artisans, shopkeepers, farmers, or peasants – and how they dressed in Europe from 1450–1650. The panels will address the subject from various viewpoints, discussing accounting, representation, imitation, and innovation, and we are also very delighted that the papers cover different parts of Europe. We look forward to telling you more about our panels and hope to see some of you in Toronto!
