Mattia Viale

Our refashioning the Renaissance team is strengthened with Mattia Viale, who joins us for two months as a research assistant. Mattia has recently finished his joint PhD in Economics and Management (University of Verona) and in History (University of Antwerp), focusing on economic growth and material living standards in Venice on 17th and 18th centuries. Mattia will work transcribing the Italian documents Stefania has been collecting, and help us to prepare those documents into a database we are working at the moment. His extensive experience with databases and knowledge of Italian documents and language will be a great asset to our project.
